Vodafone Business and RingCentral have unveiled ‘One Net Unite con RingCentral,’ a solution tailored to provide enhanced flexibility and simplicity for business clients in Spain. With a particular focus on addressing the demands of hybrid and remote workforces, this solution introduces a secure platform that should foster effective communication among employees, customers, and suppliers. It merges RingCentral’s collaboration features with Vodafone’s communication services, offering a fully cloud-based solution accessible from any device and location, ultimately aimed at optimizing productivity and delivering a tool to new and existing clients seeking improved collaboration and efficiency.
The collaboration between RingCentral and Vodafone extends beyond Spain. Their history of partnership includes the joint creation of a co-branded cloud-based Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) solution for Vodafone Business in late 2020, along with the provision of Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) to Vodafone Business customers. In February 2022, they introduced ‘Vodafone Business UC with RingCentral’ in the UK, with plans to extend this offering to regions such as Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Portugal, Singapore, and Sweden. This development carries particular significance in the UK due to the shutdown of traditional ISDN and PSTN networks in 2025. These networks have historically served as the communication backbone for numerous businesses. Vodafone has over 18 million mobile and fixed-line customers in the UK.
‘Vodafone Business UC with RingCentral’ presents a transition from legacy infrastructure to cloud-based connectivity through a consolidated application, ensuring businesses receive a secure and resilient solution. This transition enhances the spectrum of unified communication and collaboration features, incorporating capabilities like call recording and high-definition video meetings. The enduring collaboration between RingCentral and Vodafone, now active in Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Spain, with additional expansions on the horizon, aims to offer customers greater choice and flexibility to support hybrid work arrangements.
The partnership between RingCentral and Vodafone exemplifies the evolving role of mobile devices as extensions of the modern office. Their collaborative efforts have introduced a unified communications solution that aims to meet the practical needs of businesses. Several competitors in the unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) space offer similar solutions to address the needs of businesses for flexible work and enhanced communication so the lasting and growing partnership looks to be a testament to its success.
Additional analyst note: Vodafone is one of the world’s largest mobile network operators and has a major presence in the top three in Spain. Earlier this month, Vodafone sold its Spanish business to Zegona for 5 billion Euros.
